sources
Mavoure is an educational site that helps people understand therapy, what it costs, and how to find someone who fits. Here’s where our information comes from and how we handle it.
Where our information comes from
We build our guides from published, reputable sources, including:
Professional and credentialing organizations. For example, EMDRIA for EMDR and Somatic Experiencing International for Somatic Experiencing, for how each approach is defined, trained, and certified.
Major health and public health organizations. For example, the American Psychological Association, the National Institute of Mental Health, and SAMHSA.
Peer-reviewed research, when we describe what studies have found. We aim to link directly to the study or a summary of it.
Insurance and government documentation. For example, Healthcare.gov, CMS, and plan documents, for how coverage, out-of-network benefits, and reimbursement work.
State licensing boards, for what different licenses and titles mean.
How we handle it
Each guide links to the sources behind its main claims, so you can check them yourself.
We describe what an approach is and what to expect. We don’t say what will work for you.
Insurance rules vary by plan and by state, and they change. Check your own plan’s documents or call your insurer to confirm.
Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
What we’re not
Mavoure isn’t a therapy service, a medical provider, or a substitute for professional care. Nothing here is medical, psychological, or legal advice, and reading this site doesn’t create a provider-client relationship. A licensed professional who knows your situation is the right person to guide decisions about your care.
